For Australian operations

Beekeeping software built for Australian apiaries.

Apiary site registration (all 8 AU states + NT/ACT supported), hive inspection records, queen lineage, honey harvests and varroa monitoring on your phone. From a backyard 2-hive operation to a 200-hive commercial outfit.

Why farmers choose PaddockMateIQ

Australian beekeeping is more compliance-heavy than people realise. Every state has its own apiary site registration. Hive inspections are recommended every 4-6 weeks and required after any treatment. Varroa monitoring expectations changed materially after Newcastle 2022. PaddockMateIQ keeps every site registration, every inspection, every queen and every honey harvest organised so you spend more time with bees and less time chasing paperwork.

State apiary site registration tracked correctly. Each of the eight AU jurisdictions has a different registration body, format, and renewal cycle. We've bundled the registry name, URL and registration-number format hint for each state. When you add a site, the platform asks for the right number in the right format and reminds you when it's renewal time.

Hive inspections you'll actually do. Inspection cards capture brood pattern (1-5 scale), queen sighted, eggs, supers added, temperament, treatments applied, and weight estimate. Take a photo of the brood frame. Done in 90 seconds per hive. The history surfaces problems early — a queen that's been laying poorly for three inspections in a row stops being a surprise.

Honey harvests, queens and lineage. Per-hive harvest weight, moisture content, harvest date. Queen lineage tracked across replacements (supersedure, swarm, requeening). Sale-batch numbers tied to specific harvests for traceability.

What you get

Apiary site register

8 AU states + NT/ACT supported. State-specific registration number format. Lat/lon and max hive count per site. Renewal reminders.

Hive cards

Apiary site, hive number, queen, established date, status. Inspection history, treatment history, honey harvest history all roll up to the hive card.

Inspections

Brood pattern, queen sighted, eggs, supers, temperament, treatments, weight, photo. Mobile-first form designed for one-handed entry while you're suited up.

Queens + lineage

Track each queen by introduction date, breeder line, replacement reason (supersedure/swarm/requeening). Lineage flows hive-to-hive when you split or combine.

Honey harvests

Per-hive weight, moisture, date. Batch numbers for sale-lot traceability. Year-over-year hive performance comparison.

Varroa + disease monitoring

Capture mite counts (alcohol wash, sticky board, sugar shake), AFB checks, EFB and chalkbrood observations. State biosecurity reporting trail.

How it works

  1. Register your sites

Add each apiary site with its state, lat/lon, max hive count and (where required) the state-issued registration number. The platform reminds you when registrations come up for renewal.

  2. Inspect on a rhythm

4-6 week cycle is the typical recommendation. Each inspection takes ~90 seconds per hive. Patterns emerge: a poor brood pattern in two consecutive inspections is a queen problem, not a one-off.

  3. Harvest and sell with traceability

Per-hive harvest records with weight, moisture and date. Batch numbers tie sale-lots back to specific hives — useful if a buyer asks about origin or if a quality issue ever surfaces.

Common questions

Which AU states are supported for apiary site registration?

All eight — NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS, NT and ACT. Each state's registry name, URL and registration-number format are bundled. The platform validates the format you enter against the state's standard.

Does it handle varroa monitoring under the post-2022 protocols?

Yes. Capture alcohol wash counts, sticky board counts, sugar shake results with date and hive. If counts exceed the action threshold, the platform flags the hive and suggests next steps (the actual treatment decisions are still yours — we don't dispense veterinary advice).

Can I track queens across hive splits and combines?

Yes. Each queen has its own record with introduction date, breeder source, line genetics if known, and a history of which hives she's been in. Splits and combines preserve the queen lineage.

What does the inspection form actually capture?

Brood pattern (1-5), queen sighted yes/no, eggs sighted yes/no, super count, temperament (1-5), treatments applied, weight estimate, photo of brood frame, free-form notes. Designed for one-handed entry in a bee suit.

Does it work for hobbyists with 2-3 hives?

Absolutely. The free tier covers unlimited hives. The compliance value (state registration tracking, inspection history) matters even more for hobbyists who don't have full-time staff to keep paperwork on top of.

What about honey sales documentation?

Per-hive harvest records can be filtered by sale-batch number, by site, by date range, by moisture content. Export a PDF of any subset for a buyer or food-standards audit.
